Commercial pilot - Helicopter add on

This course is designed for students who hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane rating and wish to add a Helicopter rating to that certificate. Corporate flight departments often hire dual rated pilots.

Students entering a Commercial to commercial add-on course must hold an FAA Commercial airplane pilot certificate and a valid second class medical certificate from an FAA approved physician.

This course will run about 4 weeks.

FAA minimum requirements

  1. Hold an FAA second class medical certificate
  2. Obtain a minimum of 50 hours of flight time in helicopters including:
    1. 15 hours dual instruction
    2. 35 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
  3. Pass an FAA oral and flight test
