Helicopter Flight Instructor

This course is for the student who holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with a Helicopter rating and wants to obtain a Flight Instructor Certificate. This certificate allows the holder to give flight instruction and to endorse the logbooks of others. This course is recommended for graduates of the commercial pilot course in order to maximize employment potential.

Students entering this course must hold a Commercial Pilot certificate and have a valid Second Class medical certificate from a Federal Aviation Administration approved physician.

The course will run four to six weeks and the student must pass an FAA oral and flight test.

FAA minimum requirements

  1. Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate
  2. Hold an FAA second class medical certificate
  3. Pass two (2) FAA written exams
  4. Obtain sufficient dual instruction for proficiency
  5. Pass an FAA oral and flight test
